Winmock Wedding
There is so much I could say about Chris and Katie’s wedding day. But what stands out the most is their love for Christ, their family, and friends. These two met at Wake Forest University where we took their engagement photos. And on a gorgeous sunny August day with all the most beautiful details these two wed. Katie and Chris had so many thoughtful aspects surrounding their day. One very touching detail was in memory of Chris’s best man/best friend who past away a few months ago, all the bouquets and boutonnieres had charms on them with Robbie’s initials on them. What a sweet way to honor and remember a dear friend.
We see many couples that share a first look with each other before their ceremony. Chris and Katie chose a more traditional route with a little spin. They shared a first touch and prayed together before their ceremony. Holding hands on the opposite side of a door so as not to see each other, but they could talk. It was one of the sweetest moments!
Venue
With beautiful blush pink dresses for the bridesmaids and classic blue suits for the guys with pops of burgundy red. A perfect color palette to usher in the fall. The pops of red went perfectly with their venue Winmock, an all-white barn with pops of red. Winmock at Kinderton might be one of our new favorite venues. It is a gorgeous white barn, with a unique story.
Over 80 years ago, S. Clay Williams, president of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, purchased this acreage along the Yadkin River and decided to build a country retreat for himself and his family. Not long after the land was cleared, the property became a fully functioning dairy farm. Mr. Williams called this special place Win-Mock Farm. The name referenced that the property is the midpoint between Winston-Salem and Mocksville.
The barn is enormous and yet the architect manages to lend itself to a remarkable gracefulness. The roof suggests the inverted hull of a great ship, creating a grand atmosphere. In 2010, Sterling Events Group acquired the country estate set on returning its buildings to a modernized version of their past glory. Ready for a new generation of memories, while honoring those of the past. WinMock is one of the premier event venues in the American South.
