There are a few places in this world that really make you feel small. A few that come to mind are big cliffs like Yosemite in California, being on a big sailboat when the sails tower above you, and seeing cities on a large scale. At the Top Of The Rock, you can literally get a birds-eye view of the whole city. And y’all New York City is huge! From the south view from Top Of The Rock, you can see the Empire State building. And from the North a perfect view of Central Park.
We met Britt with Britt Jones co. at the Top Of The Rock to capture the next adventure in our editorial. Before the session, Britt called me about a week before. She mentioned that our model for the shoot Chris was actually going to propose to his girl Maggie. Ummm hello! That’s amazing! I think I had a knot in my stomach all the way up 70 floors to the top. Our session started with Chris on one knee proposing to Maggie. She was just stunned, followed by, “yes” and all the excitement and champagne popping fun. Needless to say, Maggie was glowing the rest of the evening.

There is truly nowhere in the city that compares when it comes to stunning views of the skyline. In order to compliment Top of the Rock’s power to take your breath away, we paired it with a gown that is just as breathtaking. This full, ruffled Marchesa gown was the focal point of the stunning bridal shoot-turned proposal. Yes, you heard it – PROPOSAL. Our groom model actually proposed to our bride model in the midst of this skyline shoot. It was truly a dream!
The Look
Chris wore a classic Black Tux. Maggie wore a delightfully fluffy Marchesa gown, perfect for a New York elopement editorial. Maggie rocked (pun intended maybe just a little, haha) this timeless, stunning gown. Its sensuous plunging neckline gave a nod to a more modern look, paired with a full downy skirt for a timeless romantic feel. Check out more of our favorite images from the session below.
