Downtown Asheville
It is 100% true that the city of Asheville has nooks and crannies that are just the coolest parts of North Carolina. It’s a city that marches to the beat of its own drum and has a very eclectic feel to it. With alleyways to explore and artwork that covers the walls of the city, there is no short supply of places to take photos. We love downtown Asheville because of the variety it offers. The Biltmore Estate
The Biltmore is hands down one of the most gorgeous places to have photos made in North Carolina. The home was built in 1895 and has a french old-world feel to it that is incomparable. With acres upon acres of property. Just the house itself is four acres. The entire estate formerly covered 125,000 acres, after giving much land to the forest service it’s now at about 8,000 acres. Asheville Arboretum
The Arboretum in Asheville is another beautiful location to have engagement photos taken. Every inch of this charming property is covered with blooming flowers in the warmer months of the year. Ar0und every corner is a new and beautiful scene of flowers blooming to perfection. The Arboretum boasts a 434-acre public garden that is located just south of Asheville adjacent to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Craggy Gardens
Looking for an epic mountain view for your engagement session? Craggy Gardens is one of our favorite places in Asheville to take stunning engagement portraits with sweeping views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Craggy Gardens has several scenes to offer including open meadows, trails, and mountain top views. It’s definitely a place that captures the majesty of Appalachia. Black Balsam Knob
Western North Carolina has no shortage of beautiful mountain top views. Another beautiful location near Asheville for that breathtaking mountain view is Black Balsam Knob. Not far from downtown Asheville in Hendersonville is Apple Orchard row. There are miles upon miles of gorgeous apple orchards and they are a gorgeous option for your engagement session. Beautiful rows of apple trees line fields and on a sunny day the light pours in just right and magic!
