Probably my favorite session in Charleston ever! I love how this gorgeous engagement session inspiration came together. When my friend Antonia Scott reached out to me about doing a wedding editorial in Charleston, which you can see more of here, I thought, let’s do two editorials and make the most of our time! So we decided to do an engagement session editorial at the Charleston, SC Wedding Venue, The Gadsden House.
While we do live in North Carolina we are frequently in Charleston and I have to say the city has my heart. Steeped in history and quaint cobblestone streets it’s the most romantic city in South Carolina.
So back to the session. The inspiration for this editorial started with the dress. A gorgeous empire waist midi gown from Mestiza New York! The minute I saw it I knew it was the perfect dress for the shoot. With the help of several very talented vendor friends, we used the dress as a jumping off place for the color inspiration. The pretty engagement party invitations and save the date by Inquisited fit the color theme perfectly.
We styled the invitation with gorgeous blooms from Festoon Charleston. And the bouquet Whitney created for the bride to be was absolutely perfect! Note to all my brides…if you are getting your florist to create a bouquet for your engagement session, send them a photo of your dress/outfit and I bet they will knock it out of the park!
Antonia created the perfect makeup look with soft blush and pink tones. Seriously, this team of wedding vendors knocked it out of the park! We chose Charleston SC Wedding Venue The Gadsden House because it embodies the charm and timelessness of Charleston! With all its character we had so many options for perfect photo opportunities.
