A perfect spring Hawkesdene Wedding
There are so many things about this day that I love. One, a Hawkesdene Wedding is always so much fun! It might have been one of the most fun receptions we have photographed. This crew definitely came to party! And the day was a celebration indeed. A celebration of love and commitment. But let me back up to the beginning. Jennifer and Alonso met while working at the same architectural company. They worked together for about six months and Alonso “tricked” Jennifer into breaking her no dating coworkers rule and the rest is history. On a casual Monday evening, he proposed on their dock in Florida after saying he’d spotted an alligator in the water. They love being outdoors which made the Hawkesdene a perfect place for them to get married!
Foregoing the wedding party
Another part of Jennifer and Alonso’s day that I loved and thought was unique is they didn’t have a wedding party. No bridesmaids, no groomsmen, no fuss. Just a sweet little puppy named Bonnie trotting down the aisle! The decision to not have a wedding party was easy for Jennifer and Alonso. They wanted everyone to savor their weekend and not be stressed with any obligations. The friends they would have chosen to be in their bridal party were there spending time with them anyway. They left out the expense of a bridal party and still benefitted from the joy of their favorite people being able to “come as they were” and relax for the weekend.
With Jennifer’s easy-going style and Alonso’s fun-loving demeanor, their day was just perfect. Jennifer even ordered flowers from Fifty Flowers and made her own bouquet and arrangements. Which were stunning! My favorite part of the day was after the sparkler exit everyone came back to the dance floor for “The Crazy Hour” or “La Hora Loca.” A Peruvian Wedding Tradition where wonderful chaos ensued with bubbles, glowsticks, and a whole lot of dancing! We had a blast celebrating with Jennifer and Alonso and their family and friends! Enjoy some of our favorites from the day!
