Palais Royal Paris Engagement Session
Even a rainy morning can’t dim the magic of a Palais Royal Paris engagement session. Dodging raindrops with Alyssa and Kevin was an absolute delight. These two lovebirds share a special connection that shone through, even under the gray skies. Alyssa looked stunning in a vintage gown by Hardy Amies, once worn by Miss Australia in the 1970s. Leah Blake from Century Girl Vintage found this beaded silk chiffon masterpiece at an auction in London, England, adding a touch of history and elegance to the day.
Palais Royal Paris
The Palais Royal, designed by French architect Lemercier for Cardinal Richelieu, holds a rich history. Constructed in 1634, it stands opposite the Louvre and was once a royal residence during the regency of Anne of Austria. From 1661, it became the seat of the Orléans family, with further alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries. The palace’s three wings, which frame its beautiful gardens, date back to the late 18th century.
Today, the Palais Royal’s serene and impressive surroundings belie its tumultuous past. In the 18th century, it was a hub of revolutionary fervor, and by the 19th century, it had gained a reputation for promiscuity. Despite its history, it remains a popular spot for both locals and tourists to enjoy a leisurely stroll.
The Palais Royal is home to the Comédie-Française and Palais-Royal theatres, as well as the renowned Grand-Véfour restaurant, famous for its listed décor. Contemporary art also finds its place here, with the main courtyard featuring striking columns designed by Buren and two mobile fountains by Pol Bury, installed in 1985.
