If I could only say one thing about Ashley and David’s wedding I would say what a perfect location! Their wedding took place on David’s family’s land in West Virginia. And while my heart resides in the mountains of North Carolina, the rolling hills of Lewisburg are completely stunning. Of course, I don’t have just one thing to say either! We met Ashley and David for their engagement session in Bluffton, SC, and Beaufort, SC. We had so much fun hanging out with these two, which made their wedding day all the sweeter!
David and Ashley married on the 4th of September. A perfect way to kick off September and celebrate Labor Day. Their wedding was absolutely stunning! From Ashley’s perfect Ti Adora gown and cathedral length veil to David’s Dapper Duds (wow watch out alliteration), what a gorgeous pair! And now that I have photographed a wedding in WV I can call myself a West Virginia Wedding Photographer! Woot Woot!
We arrived for the rehearsal the evening before. We did all of Ashley and David’s details the day before the wedding which was fantastic. I love being able to take my time with all the details. Things like the invitation, jewelry, shoes, etc…are items we know you spend hours picking out, so we love pulling all those small things together to tell the story of your day. After we completed the details we walked through the family property for the rehearsal and then onto a yummy dinner!
The wedding day started like all good things with coffee! Harry and I started our day at the Wild Bean in downtown Lewisburg with coffee and omelets and waffles! After fueling up we met all the girls jamming out to loud music and eruptions of laughter, makeup, and hairspray abounding! We love this part of the wedding day! Everyone is so excited and anxious for the amazing celebration of two lovebirds. After some getting-ready moments, we made our way to the guys at the farm where we would do Ashley and David’s first look. I could feel David’s excitement to see his bride and then a huge release when he saw his girl for the first time! It was magical! After a glorious first look on the farm, the sun shining we took wedding party photos then off for a little break before the ceremony.
In true princess fashion, Ashley arrived at the ceremony overlooking hills of cows in a horse-drawn carriage. Talk about a grand entrance! And not to mention their perfect flower dog, Koa. A sweet ceremony led to a flower petal exit, family photos, and dancing in the fields. Another delicious meal and an incredibly fun wedding reception ended the night!
