Sweet Love in Charleston
I got to spend last weekend in Charleston and was so excited to do an in-home lifestyle session with Brooke and Benjamin! Their home on John’s Island is just the cutest! And boy am I glad we decided on an indoor session, it was quite hot and muggy out that day!
About Brooke and Benjamin
Benjamin and Brooke met in October 2014 on Tybee Island. Brooke had just moved to Savannah and Ben was living in Charleston working in the film industry. Brooke had previously been married for over a decade. Ben had been looking for “the one” for just as long. Brooke never thought she would meet her soulmate after such a tumultuous marriage.
Wanting a fresh start, Brooke wanted to do something she had never done before, be an extra in a movie. Benjamin was a lighting technician on Magic Mike XXL. Brooke acted as a party “pool girl” and apparently swept him off his feet with her background acting skills.
The two only worked two days together on that movie and then had their first date. That week while Ben continued shooting Magic Mike, they went on a few more dates in Savannah. The two became inseparable and Brooke took every chance she had to visit Ben on the weekends in Charleston. In January 2015 Brooke moved to Charleston to be with him.
Meant to be
Moving in together that March, they dated & lived our lives on Folly Beach until we eloped at the courthouse in April of 2016 then built a home on Johns Island. They have worked on several movies together, which is “THE BEST”, Brooke says, because they travel, explore & work on set with one another. From Savannah, Myrtle Beach, Charlotte, Cashiers to Asheville.
Magic Mike XXL, Vice Principals, ABC’s Dirty Dancing, WGN’s “Underground”, Naked, ABC’s The Death of Eva Sophia and most recently 2018’s Halloween.
The two love animals and have recently had to tell our sweet Daphne goodbye as she was 14 years old. They hope to add to their family over the next year, whether they invite another pooch into our lives or begin to explore adoption. Brooke and Ben love to collect sharks teeth and shells on the beach, watch sunsets, travel to the mountains, hike, camp, explore new breweries, and eat food. They love doing everything together. Essentially the two have been waiting their whole lives to find one another, so only meeting in our 30’s we feel as though we’re making up for lost time. They love dating each other even though they are married, making time for each other is super important to them.
