St. Augustine Engagement
On our pre-Christmas adventure, we dropped the kids off with the grands and headed to Sunny Florida. We met Nick and Chloe for their St. Augustine Engagement session at Washington Oaks Gardens State Park. And let me tell you how much fun we had with these two. We laughed our way through our session with this adorable couple. Starting at the gardens part of the State Park and then making our way to the beach. I love the mountains, but being in Florida and at the beach was a welcomed change from the mountains.
Washington Oaks Gardens State Park
So this State Park is gorgeous with mature trees, gorgeous walkways, and a rose garden. So not only are Nick and Chloe a gorgeous couple, we had a gorgeous setting for their engagement session. And just across the highway was a gorgeous beach. The rocks on this beach had me swooning with the water crashing over them, it was perfect.
About Nick and Chloe
Nick and Chloe met in high school. He is the outgoing, personable football player and she is someone who kept to herself and friends with a small group of people. Nick Walker is someone who if you know him, you love him, and he’s hard to forget.
When Chloe was a Sophomore they shared the same friend group and found themselves around one another more and more. She found herself thinking about him all the time. He wasn’t the kind of guy she would normally be swooning over but nonetheless, he slowly but surely became her person. The two spent nights driving around town talking and dreaming about life after graduating and what it could be like together. Throughout many life changes college, and then moving to North Carolina they have learned more about one another than ever before.
How he asked
On Sunday, July 8th Chloe and her family who were visiting from Florida headed to Church. After Church, Nick and her family were to have dinner at a friend’s house. Nick stalled dinner by saying the friend needed more time to cook. He suggested they go to a park and take some family photos. Chloe was completely clueless about what was happening.
After a few minutes, a plane came across the field and dropped a box attached to a parachute. The plan was for the box to land right near them, but it ended up falling behind the tree line on the edge of the field. The box was a decoy to distract Chloe. She was confused trying to figure out whose it was and why they dropped it here. She then turned around to find Nick holding the most gorgeous ring (that he designed himself!).
That’s when he got down on a knee and asked her the question I had been waiting to answer for so long! She was shocked, in love, and so incredibly happy. Getting to marry the love of her life!
