Love at the Ocoee River
I met Haley and Cody Saturday at the Ocoee River and we had a blast hanging out together capturing sweet memories. Their Ocoee River Engagement Session was perfect. I love the outdoors and have a keen fondness for rivers. Harry and I have both rafted the Ocoee many times and Harry is actually certified to guide it. Seeing as how the Ocoee is almost perfectly in the middle of Andrews and Cleveland it seemed like the perfect place to meet for our session. After days and days of rain and cold, Saturday was a perfect spring day in the middle of winter. Nothing but sunshine and highs in the 50s, it was a perfect day!
How They Met
Cody and Haley went to middle school and high school together, but they were never in the same friend group. They finally met when they started working together their senior year of high school. They loved working with each other! After graduation, Haley went into YWAM and he went to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. The two came back to Cleveland around the same time and Cody convinced Haley work at the ice cream shop again. She always thought that he was the most genuine and kind person. He invited her to a Matchbox Twenty concert with him. He surprised her a couple weeks later with tickets to see my favorite artist, The Weekend! And a few days later took Haley to a llama farm, she loves llamas, they spent the whole day exploring, eating ice cream and sushi, and looking at the stars together. From then on they were inseparable.
On their one year anniversary, they got breakfast together and asked a friend from work to take some pictures. So they went to a park, and while their friend was taking photos he said he had something for Haley for the picture, he pulled out a box. She opened it up and it was a locket. She probably looked really disappointed that it was not a ring! But then he said, “it’s a locket!” And he told her to open it up. Inside it was engraved “Marry me” and the next thing Haley knew he was on his knee asking her to marry him.
