North Carolina Mountain Engagement
Spending the afternoon and early evening with these two was a dream. Their North Carolina Mountain Engagement session was the sweetest. Savannah and Patrick are the perfect mix of laid back and fun. I loved spending time with them capturing their engagement session. We played around in the most gorgeous places, starting at the lake then working our way to the top of a mountain only to find ourselves in a thick fog. Making our way out of the fog back to the valley for some pretty mountain views. Hiking, watching documentaries, and cooking are a few of their favorite things to do together.
Proposal Story According to Patrick From Savannah’s Point of View:
Patrick was looking so handsome this day. I was already smitten by his good looks and charm. That day I had a suspicion that something was awry. My friend Elizabeth was in town which was why I had an inclination that something was as the kids say ‘going down’. Patrick had planned for us to go down the Nantahala River. Patrick’s friends, Nicholas and Zachary, were also in town. Promptly heading towards the Nantahala river at a quarter to one o’clock, sharp. Our friend, Nicholas, guided us down the river in a six-person raft. We got stuck on every blasted rock that was on the river. At this point in time, my anxiety had spiked to an all-time high because I pondered what Patrick had been planning and if today was the day.
“Will you marry me?”
As soon as we were getting to the take out of the river, Patrick pointed out to me that one of my best friends, Melayne Daniel, was standing upon a bridge that went over the river. I was buffaloed at the appearance of Melayne Daniel and so excited to go and greet her. As soon as we reached the take out, I hopped to my feet to run and see her. I was excited to see my best friend. I asked her what in the world was she doing there. As soon as I started to talk to her, I hear one of the manliest voices I have ever heard. It said, “Savannah Holmes, will you marry me?”
I was so taken back that I was getting somewhat of a tunnel vision. I heard a roaring yell that came across the entire outfitter. So, of course, I said yes because who wouldn’t for such a dashing man. As soon as I said yes. My ditzy self couldn’t think so I gave him my right hand, but of course, he was too cunning for me and said, “Savannah Lynn, that is the wrong hand my dearest.” So I gave him my left hand and he put the ring on my finger. We hugged and heard another bellowing roar. And to my greatest surprise, his parents came out of nowhere, they were overjoyed but not surprised by the outcome. Patrick and I became a newly engaged couple. The end.
Proposal Story According to Savannah:
So what really happened. I knew that it was going to happen. We went down the river and I saw Melayne on the bridge. When we got to the take out, we were all standing there. Patrick said why don’t you go see Melayne. I said okay let’s go. He said I will be there in a minute. So I awkwardly walked over there by myself. Even though Melayne would be the one to run to me in every other situation. I said hello to Melayne and was talking to her when Patrick said, “Savannah”. I turned around and he was down on one knee. He asked if I would marry him and I said yes. Since I knew that it was coming, I knew I had to get him somehow. I gave him my right hand and he didn’t even notice until I told him.
Obviously these two are the cutest! Their relationship reminds me a lot of Harry and I and we cannot wait for their wedding next Summer.
