Meet the Motes family!
We met at the John C. Campbell Folk School and played in the leaves and laughed a lot.
Mike and Diane, married for 46 years, met in the high school band. He was a drum major and she the captain of the color guard. They still live in the first house they bought, with 17 acres, and hope to start building a new home next year. Mike is a retiree from local union 72, doing HVAC work for 30+ years. Diane is also a retiree from the Douglas County, Georgia, Board of Education after almost 30 years. Working at the same elementary in Kindergarten and as an administrative assistant to the principal. The two are active members of their church Mike is a deacon and Diane the church pianist. They love to travel and been to 44 states, hoping to visit all the states and celebrate their 50th anniversary in Hawaii.
Mike and Diane have three children. First, married for 16 years, Steven and wife Connie. Steven works for Coca-Cola delivering Coke machines. Connie works at Word For You press, and they have two dogs. Next, are Staci and husband Christian wed for 22 years. Steven and Christian were best friends in high school. They have four children, Mason (13), Mallory (12), Magan (7) and Manning (5). Mason is working to earn his Eagle badge in Boy Scouts. Staci is a children’s director at their church and Christian is the owner of a collision center. Betsy and husband Chuck have been married for 13 years. Betsy works at a hospital as a switchboard operator, she’s a Former 911 dispatcher. Chuck works at Delta as an airline mechanic. They live on 34 acres with two golden retrievers.
