This summer might be the wedding season of Golden Retrievers! We love the way Mary Helen and Brian included their furry babies on their wedding day. Their intimate wedding at Hutchinson House (a venue of Old Edwards Inn) included and honored their sweet pups, Hallie and Parker. One of my favorite details that honored their dogs was the signature cocktails at the reception. The Hallie is a signature cocktail with vodka, club soda, pineapple, and black cherry White Claw. The Parker is a signature cocktail with club soda, cranberry, and lime. Complete with tennis ball stirrers. We love when couples include these sweet details. And the best part, the dogs were in attendance for the nuptials!
The day started with Mary Helen and her sisters getting ready in a gorgeous Highlands, NC Airbnb. While getting ready Mary Helen’s faithful sweet girl Hallie was roaming around the house. A comfort just to have her around, as Mary Helen has had Hallie since college. After a morning at the Airbnb Mary Helen and Brian arrived at the Hutchinson house to get dressed and ready for their ceremony. Being very family-oriented, their wedding was a small party of about 20 people, all family. While dressing the bridal suite is buzzing with sisters, mom, and nieces watching Mary Helen step into her dress. A perfect Mira Zwillinger fitted lace gown with a plunging neckline, perfect for the occasion!
A Rainy Ceremony and Quaint Reception
We dodged the rain all day but right as Mary Helen and her dad started for the gazebo the rain came. But the rain did not stop Mary Helen and Brian’s perfect union under a cozy gazebo at The Hutchinson House. With a fire in the fireplace and Brian and Hallie waiting for Mary Helen and her dad at the end of a short aisle. The two shared tear-filled vows with each other with all their family in attendance. After a few family photos and a few minutes with just the bride and groom, they made their way to a perfectly quaint reception at the pavilion. The reception was the perfect example of small, but still very well designed and executed. Cocktails, dinner, and cake wrapped up their perfect day.
