Happy Summer friends! We are splashing into the summer with numerous trips to the pool. And I thought I would take a blog post to give my review of Kodak Ektar 100. I have to say what a fun film stock! I am loving the colors! These colors are punchy, fun, and perfect for summer. If you are looking for a pop of color Kodak Ektar 100 is a must-try! We’ve compared Kodak Ektar 100 with Kodak Portra 160. The Ektar definitely has a little more punch of color, but can also get a bit muddy in the shadows. But overall I love the skin tones and the colors it produces.
Now, I photograph weddings and portraits mostly. So, while I love Ektar 100 for these fun summer shots. It’s not the film stock I will use for my wedding and portrait clients. I will still use Kodak’s Portra line of films, specifically 160, 400, and 800 for my wedding and portrait work. If you want to know more about Kodak Films and our experience with switching from Fuji to Kodak…check out this blog here. In that blog post, we chat about the subtle color differences and all the things that play into film stocks (namely Kodak Portra films). So without further adieu check out some of our favorite shots from the pool.
