Maddie and Ross’s Craggy Gardens Engagement Session
What a dream this session was! Maddie and Ross are an incredible couple, and we had a blast during their engagement shoot at Craggy Gardens. From the moment we greeted each other in the parking lot, it felt as if we had been friends for years. Maddie’s radiant smile puts everyone at ease, and Ross is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. Typically, it takes a little time for grooms to relax in front of the camera, but not Ross—he was a natural from the start! I can’t wait to capture their wedding day.
The weather forecast had been uncertain all week, but then, to our delight, the sun shone brightly all day! However, the ground was still quite soft from the recent rain, which led to an unexpected mishap. As someone who often uses a step stool, I discovered that wet ground and step stools don’t mix well—I took a tumble for the first time ever! Although it was a bit embarrassing, Maddie and Ross were absolute gems, and we laughed it off together. I wish we had caught it on video—it would have been hilarious to watch! In the end, everything turned out perfectly. The Smoky Mountains provided a stunning backdrop, and we had an amazing time celebrating Maddie and Ross’s love.

How They Met
Maddie and Ross’s story began during their college years at Wofford in Spartanburg, SC. Ross was a football player, and Maddie was a cheerleader. Their parents tailgated together throughout their college days, with Ross’s dad often joking that he knew a great guy for Maddie to date. Little did they know that by the end of that year, Maddie and Ross would start dating, and a few years later, they would be engaged. We loved this session at Craggy Gardens and cannot wait for Maddie and Ross’s Wedding.
