Maddie and Ross met in college at Wofford in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Their families were tailgating buddies. Ross was a football player and Maddie a cheerleader for Wofford. Maddie says, “Ross’s dad used to tell me that he had a guy for me – I laughed it off. But here we are… getting married… TWICE!” That’s right these two got two weddings. Having to delay your wedding is no easy feat. However, Maddie and Ross took postponing their wedding two months in stride. Having all your expectations for your wedding day getting thwarted by some mystery virus can be a difficult pill to swallow. Maddie and Ross were amazing to work with throughout their whole rescheduling process. They went ahead with a small ceremony on their original wedding day in June. Then Maddie cleverly called that “The Big Day.” Then postponing their party at Chestnut Ridge “The Bigger Day” to a new September date.
The Bigger Day
Maddie and Ross’s “Bigger Day” was stunning. The venue Chestnut Ridge is a stunning all white and black barn venue in the mountains of Western, North Carolina. Just outside of Asheville. Maddie and Ross had the perfect late summer wedding day. Maddie wore a perfect lace Pronovias gown with a cathedral length veil. They tied the knot under a wooden cross, beautifully decorated with lush greenery and all-white blooms by Whitney with Springvine Design.
Every detail of their gorgeous event came together beautifully. Their amazing cocktail hour was completely yummy with warm pretzels and charcuterie from Catering by Corey. Followed by a superb dance party with special surprise guest Wofford’s mascot Blitz. Complete with a sparkler exit to dash off into the night. All things considered, Maddie and Ross had their fair share of wedding woes to overcome, because of Covid19. But they did and they are married which is all that matters.
