A Fall Wedding to Remember
Carson and Clauson’s wedding was held at Brays Island Plantation, South Carolina. Nestled just over an hour south of Charleston, it was one of the highlights of our fall wedding season. Altogether, this charming and historically rich property provided the perfect backdrop for a love-filled two-day celebration. The couple’s special weekend was a beautiful blend of elegance and Southern charm, creating memories that will last a lifetime, all designed by WED.
A Cozy Friday Night Ceremony
The festivities kicked off on Friday evening, starting with a cozy ceremony nestled under the towering oak trees. This picturesque setting perfectly captured the essence of Brays Island’s natural beauty. Subsequently, the evening transitioned into an intimate gathering where guests enjoyed a sushi supper, introducing a unique and modern twist to the celebration.
Furthermore, Friday night turned into a glamorous black-tie affair. Both Carson and Clauson dressed impressively for the event. Clauson, with his tall frame, looked dashing in a Bonobos tuxedo, which he stylishly paired with a classic black bowtie and cummerbund. On the other hand, Carson exuded elegance in a simple column dress, beautifully adorned with a gorgeous pearl overlay, embodying timeless beauty. The evening was not only a feast for the taste buds but also a visual delight, thanks to their stunning attire.
Pre-Party Hang Time
Clauson kicked Saturday off with a relaxed morning on the golf course, enjoying the crisp morning air and a friendly game with his groomsmen. Meanwhile, Carson was poolside, basking in the warm sunshine surrounded by her closest friends. They reminisced about old times and shared excited chatter over cocktails, each moment filled with laughter and light-hearted fun. As the day unfolded, the joyous mood set the perfect tone for the beautiful reception that followed.
A Lively Saturday Soiree
As the weekend unfolded, the festivities ramped up on Saturday with a vibrant outdoor reception set against the scenic backdrop of the Pocotaligo River. This day was dedicated to sheer enjoyment, with everyone adopting a ‘country cocktail’ attire that blended fun with elegance. Carson shone brightly in her one-shoulder white sequin dress paired with blue suede cowboy boots and turquoise cuffs, her look completed by a playful party ponytail designed for dancing the night away. Clauson matched her style, looking dashing in a perfectly tailored blue jacket, a crisp brown and white button-down, khaki slacks, and stylish ostrich cowboy boots.
Moreover, the reception epitomized Southern hospitality at its finest, boasting two live bands that added a lively soundtrack to the evening. Guests were treated to a unique bourbon and cigar bar, challenged themselves on a mechanical bull, and feasted on a BBQ spread complete with all the traditional fixings. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as friends and family came together to celebrate the joyous union of the newlyweds, reveling in the opportunity to enjoy each other’s company in such a festive setting.
Sweet and Sentimental Touches
One of the sweetest highlights of the day was the couple’s wedding cake. The simple, clean funfetti cake with creamy white icing was not just a delicious treat but also held deep sentimental value. Carson and Clauson cut the cake with the same knife used by the bride’s parents years ago, a beautiful nod to family tradition. The couple also honored Clauson’s late father during the ceremony by incorporating silk ribbons bearing his initials. A touching tribute that added even more meaning to their special day.
