Hello Friends. I wanted to take just a minute and tell you a little bit more about us and the gal behind the lens at McSween Photography. I love my family, all things organized and coffee…Iced and sweet.
Let me give you a bit of history…I got my start in photography when I was young, I stumbled across my grandfather’s images and slides from his time in the army and his Canon 35 mm AE-1.
These first two images below are my grandfather Ernest. He passed away when I was little, so I never got to know him, but I love the photos and the inadvertent passion that I happily acquired that he left behind. There are some pretty incredible treasures among his photos including photos of my gorgeous grandmother, my dad as a little boy, Southeast Asian cities and let’s not forget JFK himself. WHAT??? Yes, these gems inspired what started my love of photography. I fell in love with taking photos and went on to work for a sports photography company all through high school and college. I started out making those cheesy soccer buttons moms wear to their kid’s soccer games. Don’t get me wrong I will proudly don a button when my kids are old enough to play sports. Then I moved up to a photography assistant and eventually shooting full time for that company.
Majoring in photography and printmaking at Kennesaw State University I graduated with a fine arts degree in 2007. Every minute of my time in college helped me learn many forms of being creative.
My husband Harry and I now own McSween Photography, which we started in 2010. We have shot over 60 weddings together since beginning this amazing business.
My passion and joy for photography continue to unfold in everyday life with my kids. Harry and I have three kids together, Keller is 5, Penny is 3, and Tess is 1. I love taking photos of them on a regular basis, capturing their personalities through our adventures together.
Some say, that the job ends up killing the hobby, but there is not a day that goes by that I don’t desire to pick up my camera and shoot.
