Summer Max Patch Elopement
Well, this day started with an overload of emotions. Our drive up to Max Patch was flooded with rain. Watching the radar like a hawk and planning for a rain delay and clear umbrellas. When we reached the parking lot at Max Patch we rejoiced when there was no rain. In fact, as our time went on the clouds cleared and the sun shone brightly. And our sweet couple tied the knot in their beautiful Max Patch Elopement.
Just off the Appalachian Trail on top of Max Patch Mountain near Hot Springs is the most beautiful view. This 4,600-ft. bald mountain was cleared and used as pasture in the 1800s. Today, it’s a 350-acre tract of open land on a high knob with 360-degree views. It’s one of the most spectacular settings you’ll experience in the Blue Ridge. And one of the most beautiful places to elope.
Lindsay and Sam were married on the top of the mountain with their immediate families. In a sweet and short ceremony in an open field surrounded by the majesty of the mountains.
Lindsay and Sam’s Story
Both from the Low Country in South Carolina. Lindsay and Sam met when Sam moved to Charleston when he started coaching. He is the coach of the same football team as Lindsay’s dad. They met at one of the games Lindsay attended and later became friends on social media. Sam proposed under the mistletoe at the Holiday Festival of Lights at their local county park.
