Mother’s Day Photos
Go back and look at all the photos you have taken in the last year what would you see? I would see tons of pictures of my kids. My husband makes it in a great deal of them, but I am in very few of the photos. So this Mother’s Day I challenged myself to get in the photo. I passed my camera off to my husband and jumped in. Am I the size I want to be? Is my hair a mess? Is this the most flattering angle or are all my chins showing? I could go on, but if I put aside the fact that this life is not about me, then I am more inclined to get in the photo and have fun with my kids. My kids are going to want to remember mom was there with them and not just behind the camera all the time.
Will the photos be the way I would have captured them, probably not, will my kids care? No. Because 20 years from now, when I’m looking at old photos with my kids and their families, I won’t remember that I was in desperate need of a haircut. I will remember the laughing and playing together and the joy of being with my kids. So even if you do not like to have your picture taken, like me, jump in anyway, your kids will always cherish those images they have with you!
