Oconaluftee Islands Park | Cherokee, NC family Session

Family Session on the river

Meet the Sunday Family! I met this sweet family last year while they were visiting Cherokee, NC on a family vacation. We met again at Oconaluftee Islands Park this year. I had so much fun walking around and playing with this sweet family and their boys. It took Robbie a few minutes to warm up, but he did when I suggested we throw some rocks in the river. I also got to meet Robby’s little brother this year, Alex. What a ham! I just love those sweet little dimples, the boys have the same sweet dimple on their left cheek.

Our last session together it rained off and on. But this time we had fantastic weather, aside from the humidity. It has been raining in North Carolina for weeks nonstop, which can be a bummer, but I am glad there was no rain this time. We had a lot of fun skipping rocks, the boys being tossed around by dad, kissed by mom and giggles with grandparents.

It was pretty appropriate that this session was on Memorial Day Weekend. Robert is in the US Navy. He has served two tours in Afganistan and will retire in July. I am so thankful for brave men and women who have served our country.

Tiffany and Robert have been married for 6 years at the end of June. They love to do anything outdoors! Robby is always asking to go outside and play! They also love to watch movies!

The park

If ever you find yourself in vacationing in Cherokee, it’s so relaxing to spend some time at Oconaluftee Islands Park. Easily accessible to downtown, the park offers shady picnic spots, swimming, tubing, trout fishing, and playing in the river. It really is the perfect park for everything. Gorgeous mature trees line the sidewalks flanked by the river on both sides. Perfect for family walks, picknicks and play!
