What a great Saturday to celebrate Jean and Ryan’s wedding at Hawkesdene with their closest friends and family. In true spring form, it did rain for a few minutes, but once the showers past and the blue sky shone, the day was absolutely gorgeous and the weather was perfect. I loved all of Jean’s details. Including her family heirlooms, her Great Grandmothers handkerchief, grandmothers engagement ring, and a blue stone necklace for something borrowed from her best friend.
Cocktail hour at the Hawkesdene never disappoints with bottomless drinks and a mounding charcuterie board to keep everyone happy. The bride and groom shared dinner with their family and friends. One of my favorite parts of the day were the toasts! I love to hear stories about the bride and groom and how very much they are loved and supported. I love the clinking of glasses as every guest agrees with what kind words have been said. And seeing the bride and groom tear up and belly laugh. So good! After a delicious dinner, we took a few more photos at sunset around the grounds, including kisses from the alpacas and llamas before heading up to the top of the mountain. Breathtaking views of the mountains awaited us at the top, where the couple share a few minutes to take in the view and enjoy being newlyweds.
Another favorite part of Jean and Ryan’s day was their first dance which was just the sweetest. These two knocked it out of the park twirling around the dance floor like pros. We had such a blast with Ryan and Jean and all their guests. It was not long before we felt like old friends. And I must mention the DJ, Chris was AMAZING! We have heard our share of DJs and Chris was hands down the best DJ we have had the pleasure of working with, a very personable dude with mad skills.
After much partying and dancing a dip and kiss under sparkler light finished the evening. We are so thankful to have spent our day serving such a sweet couple. Thank you both for the honor of being a part of your special day.
Jean and Ryan met at a friends game night. Ryan proposed on top of Chimney Rock in the Smokey Mountains. After months of planning out every detail, not much went as planned. The short & skinny, it was at that moment Jean found out that she is highly allergic to insects. Poor Ryan! She did say yes though! Both total star wars geeks, Ryan gave Jean an R2D2 charm as a wedding gift, and they had an adorable cake topper with R2D2 and BB-8.
