Asher turns 2!
Happy second birthday to sweet Asher…His mom is one of my best friends and I just love this little guy! He has the biggest smile I believe I have ever seen. Asher loves hats, bicycles, motorcycles, dinosaurs, lions, blocks, and food. There are many times I have been around to hear him look at his mama with big eyes and say, “hungeeee.”
A note from mama:
“You have a big smile and a big heart. You copy everything (literally everything) your sister does and says. You love to make jokes and to laugh. You don’t like slides but love to swing and to climb. You can almost count to 10 and you call most every color blue. You are a daddy’s boy through and through but I know you have a special place for your mama too. You’ve changed our world, my little man, and I pray we teach you to do that every day. I love you, Asher Eric. You do you, bud.”
A family reunion, 50th anniversary, and the eclipse
Meet the O’Leary Family! Scott from Orlando and Dan from Auburn, met their parents in the North Carolina mountains to celebrate their parents 50th wedding anniversary. All very interested in the Eclipse they decided to make it an anniversary gift for their parents. Totality happen right over Murphy, NC where a friend of the family owned a “get-away” cabin. Scott and Dan’s mom had been before and she loved it, so we decided to bring the whole family up to see this once-in-a-lifetime event and make some pretty remarkable new memories together.
Dan and his wife Cheryl and family are avid Auburn fans, their whole family attending Auburn helped. Scott went to school in Tampa at USF, but recently returned to Orlando. The family with two kids are the Kology’s. Jeff Kology is Scott’s best friend and have been so since high school. He is more like a brother to Scott and a third son to his folks. They were inseparable when they were young and he was always spending time with them. He went to school at FAU, where he met his wife Meghan. The two adopted little Hailey after being told they would never have kids. That’s also when she got pregnant with Dillon. Funny how those things work out. They moved to North Carolina about ten years ago and they love it.
What a fun getaway for everyone, and a once in a lifetime experience to get to see a total eclipse of the sun! Enjoy!
The big K – Kindergarten!
I cannot believe my sweet baby is in Kindergarten. It seems like he was just born, but sure enough he will be six in December! Some days I stop and look at Keller and think how did he get so big? He used to fit in my arms, and now I can barely hold him. So is motherhood I am told. The days are long, but the years are short. That has proved to be true!
I have to pinch myself at times, because I think, God let me be this little guys momma! He chose me to teach and grow him. Seeing the great kid he is becoming overwhelms me at times. He is such a joy to be around. Don’t get me wrong he has his moments like every other kid, but I really do like him. His zeal for life is infectious, unless its 8am and then not so much, but he wakes up every day wide open and ready for anything. He started talking at 18 months old and has not stopped since. Whether he has lost a tooth or has a new lego guy you are going to know all about it!
He is learning to be a great big brother, having two little sisters can sure test you, but he is filling those shoes rather well! He is a fierce and loyal friend. And in classic first born fashion, he is an awesome helper. I love that even though he is getting older he still has to hug and kiss me before I go anywhere. I am super excited to see the man Keller will become, and what God has for his future, but for now I am happy to still get some snuggles in.
This post is the continuing personal journey of savoring motherhood through photography. Enjoy…there is more to come.
Family Gathers For Mom’s 60th Birthday!
Melissa and her sister Sarah met in Robbinsville, NC with their parents to celebrate their mom turning 60! After some super sweet family photos we headed back to the lake house for some fun. Fun with Friends, paddle boarding, and hanging out on the dock was a perfect end to our session. Enjoy.
Last week we took our annual end of summer vacation. We went to Beaufort, SC to visit Harry’s folks, they moved to Beaufort back in December. We packed a lot into one week, and the motto turned out to be “well, at least we tried.” Haha. It seemed every time we tried to do something we would get rained out…but we still had a blast. On our last day we had a day full of sunshine.
We needed a break away from home and to spend some good time together. Our week consisted of hunting for fiddler crabs, kayaking, fishing on the boat, adventuring on the sandbar, going to the beach, bike rides, and fun at the pool. Needless to say there was not a lack of entertainment. We ate good food, got good rest and had tons of fun.
Documenting my kids experiences and seeing their excitement for new things is such a joy for me. And just as a disclaimer the beardless man in all our photos is in fact Harry, he shaved his beard, so we did not bring some random person on vacation with us, haha. This post is the continuing personal journey of savoring motherhood through photography. Enjoy…there is more to come.
